In November Adobe Romania will organize the 3rd edition of Software Testing Course – First Time QE. The course is organized and presented entirely by Adobe Romania employees and, hopefully, it will be full of useful things and “Kodak moments”.

The course will run over 5 five consecutive days, starting on the 15th and ending on the 19th of November. The primary goal of this course is to introduce the participants to what software testing really is and how to approach it. Each course day will start at 10:00 AM and end at 6:00 PM, with an hour lunch break at noon.

Training agenda:

Day 1: Where does the fit testing in the Software Product Lifecycle
Day 2: Test design, testing methodology
Day 3: Practical tests and bug reporting
Day 4: Automation
Day 5. Special Day

Number of seats is limited to 12.

The selection process will be made in two stages. In the first stage you will have to play with an application whose main purpose is to test your skills at finding problems.

We will make a first selection based on your results and on the problems found and reported by you while playing with the application. The final selection will be made based on a mini-interview with one of the First Time QE team members.

The course will be held at the Adobe Romania headquarters located in Anchor Plaza Romania office building, 9th floor, on Timisoara Boulevard 26Z, next to Plaza Romania.

The FX4 Tour – Flex Camp Bucharest is over now. It has been a great success: there has been around 60 participants from which 65-70 percent were Flex developers. This is great! The Flex community is growing bigger and stronger.

Three interesting things:

• seen TransformGestureEvent in action
• Slider – Flex Mobile Framework is expected to be available in 2010
• Cairngorm is discontinued although version 3 beta is out since last winter

On Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (GMT+0200) will be available online an interesting web seminar hosted by Adobe Systems.

Join Piotr Walczyszyn for this 30 minutes e-seminar followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. Learn how to define mutitouch, how to support it, and how you can handle multitouch events. Also explore new techniques for interacting with software and devices with the latest capabilities of the Flash Platform.

Our friend Mihai Corlan, who is an Platform Evangelist for Adobe, has a nice idea and ask us to give him a hand to build a Drupal image module with Flex. Now it’s ready and Mihai will talk about this on Feb 05, 2010.

Wednesday, 27th of January, in Bucharest, Mark Anders, the creator of Flash Catalyst will tell us how Flash Catalyst appeared and how it got done. For anyone who doesn’t know about him, Mark Anders is a major contributor for the whole Adobe Flex platform.

The meeting starts at 6 PM but we will start gather and 5:30 PM and it will be mostly an opened discussion. Mark will tell us what’s behind the scenes not only for Flash Catalyst but also for other Flex related products.
