Flash Builder 4 and Flex 4 has just been launched. Flash Builder is the new version of Flex Builder 3 in case that you didn’t know it. Both of them are bringing lots of improvements to the previous versions.

You can download the Flash Builder 4 and evaluate it for 60 days from http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/ or you can directly buy it from Adobe Store.
Regarding Flex 4 SDK read this. It comes with the Flash Builder 4 but also can be downloaded separately from here. If you didn’t know Flex 4 SDK brings in the Spark components which separates the data and logic from the user interface. If you’re interested please read the differences between Flex 3 and Flex 4.

I WAS very excited about this release, until I checked the prices!
Upgrade from Flex 3 standard to Flash builder 4 Pro is $299 USD, that seemed fair, but wait the UK version (which I have to upgrade to) is £293 GBP that’s equivalent to $442!
This was also the reason I only upgraded Flash to CS4 not my whole CS3 webpremium.
I put away my credit card, what else can we do?
